COLLEGE of ENGINEERING Awards Alumni Honors Day Book AwardThis college award is for a sophomore or junior in each college who has a sincere desire for knowledge and has participated in extracurricular activities designed to help fellow students achieve academic success. Baker Award for Leadership ExcellenceThis college award is for a sophomore or junior in the College of Engineering who has a minimum GPA of 3.0. Selection will be made based on demonstrated leadership in student organizations, with a preference for a student who is also involved with the College’s National Engineers Week Planning. Charles B. Evans PrizeThis $500.00 college award is for a graduating senior engineering student "…who submits the best report on a piece of original research in the field of engineering" and has achieved an outstanding scholarship, leadership, and service record. Bangalore T. Lakshman ScholarshipThis college award is for an undergraduate student in the college who demonstrates outstanding scholarship. Panel of Distinguished SeniorsThis college award is in recognition of outstanding scholarship to a panel comprised of one senior in each college. Selection requires a minimum index of 3.5 with 15 credit hours average each semester and 75 percent of the total credit hours earned at the University. Outstanding personal qualities are also considered. Dan Roarty Memorial ScholarshipThis $1000.00 college scholarship is provided by the Wilmington Section of the Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society (ISA) to one junior-year student in the College of Engineering who has achieved a cumulative index of 3.0 or better, and who demonstrates leadership ability, an interest in national level professional societies, a willingness to take on voluntary participation in engineering related interactions beyond the University curriculum, and an interest in the field of instrumentation and controls.
